PROJECTION OF CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS ON NET PRIMARY PRODUCTIVITY OF THE LEGAL AMAZON – BRAZIL

The Amazon Rainforest is one of the main carbon sinks (CO2) on planet. However, recently, due to anthropic activities and climate change, it has lost its stability in CO2 absorption. Therefore, understanding dynamics future change scenarios becomes essential. We assess influence NPP (biomass) levels Forest using ML models. tested models were Bayesian, Linear Model, Random Forest. current scenario was evaluated 19 bioclimatic covariates (worldclim dataset). While based RCPs 2.6 8.5 (based MIROC5 HadGEM2-ES models). had best performance statistic (R² = 0.71 training 0.68 holdout-test). will imply an increase average for forest, especially with greater intensification RCP (2 7.69 % models, respectively). Forests (Evergreen Broadleaf areas) have fixation capacity. In general, forest increased capacity by end century.
